The top two teams in women’s rugby - England and Canada - faced each other in the final round of the 2024 WXV 1, with the victor being crowned the Champions of WXV. Although Canada were able to get the first score, it was ultimately England who were able to win out the game. However, while this extends the Red Roses winning run to 20, it was arguably the closest match they had faced since the Rugby World Cup Final in 2022, and the first real test before the next Rugby World Cup in 2025, hosted by England.
