LRR 219:

Why Should We Care?

As Canada started off their tour of Romania with an eye-watering defeat to South American sensation, Chile, it’s left us wondering…why should we care?

The lads sum up the general apathy towards the men’s team, citing the poor performances on pitch, the continued failures of Kingsley Jones’ tenure as Head Coach, and the overall appauling mindset of an executive at Rugby Canada, that saw Jones become the first coach of Canada - in any variation of XVs or 7s - to fail to qualify for the Rugby World Cup, and think “more of the same, please.”

And if they don’t care, why the hell should you? Or us? And we run a Canadian rugby podcast, so that makes it even worse!

If there’s any consilation, the lads leave it to the end, discussing UBC’s first Championship victory in the USPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship, the final tournament for Wheelchair Rugby Canada’s Head Coach, Pat Côte, and looking ahead to the Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship in Ottawa.
